How do I get started ordering?

You may go directly to our product listings on the website to begin ordering anytime.  Checkout is easy and anyone can order.  If you would like to receive our weekly price lists via email, please sign up here.

 

 Do I have to be a professional buyer to order?

No! Anyone can order, as long as you are within the Omaha/Council Bluffs/Lincoln metro areas for delivery. Other locations may also order, but may need to pick up on-farm or pay an extra delivery fee, at the discretion of the farm. Contact our sales staff at sales@lonetreefoods.com for details on out-of-area ordering.

 

How does delivery work?

When you buy a product through Lone Tree Foods, it comes directly from the farm to you, with no central warehousing, for maximum freshness.  Deliveries are made by Lone Tree Foods staff, and occur on Thursday unless otherwise specified. You must be in the Omaha or Lincoln metro area to receive delivery, unless prior arrangements are made.  See our delivery page for more info.

 

Can I get delivery on other days, or more frequently than once a week?

Possibly, at the discretion of the farmer and delivery staff. This would be on a case-by-case basis, depending on the delivery distance and amount of the order.

 

What do I do if I’m dissatisfied with my order?

In the case of severe quality issues, you may reject a shipment within 24 hours of delivery. See our delivery page for more info. If there are issues that don’t warrant a rejection, please communicate with our salesperson and we will relay your concerns to the farmer, with the goal of correcting the issue promptly.

 

How do I pay for my order?

It’s up to you: You can choose to pay via credit card or PayPal at check out; or you can choose to pay by check, in which case you will receive an emailed invoice from Lone Tree Foods shortly after delivery.

 

Can I set up a standing order or regular delivery of a specific item(s)?

Yes, we are happy to work with you on setting up a standing order of any kind. Just let our salesperson know the details at sales@lonetreefoods.com.

 

Can I contract for products in advance, to assure availability?

We are very interested in advance agreements – we feel they benefit our buyers and our producers alike. Contact our salesperson at sales@lonetreefoods.com for more info.

 

Where are the farms that supply Lone Tree Foods?

All of our member farms are in Iowa and Nebraska, and a majority are within 150 miles of Omaha. We are proud to offer truly local foods!

 

What kind of farming practices do your farmers use?

The majority of our producers use organic and  sustainable methods,  following our production standards including only organic-approved inputs, pasture access and humane treatment of animals. We do have some selected local conventionally-grown produce available as well.

 

Who owns and manages Lone Tree Foods? 

We are majority farmer-owned and managed. Our three producer-owners are: Ben Gotschall (Davey Road Ranch); Mark Roh (Abie Vegetable People); and Justin G. Jones (Jones Produce). We believe this keeps us focused on the best interests of our farmer members.

Do you charge a fee to producers for your services? 

No. We add a small margin to your wholesale price to fund our operations. Lone Tree Foods means convenience, quality, streamlined ordering, and great customer service, and we think it’s a great value.
